The Blacklist Season 2 Cast Promotional Pictures

The Blacklist certainly took a turn for the brilliant and savage by last season’s end.

Perhaps all that added gravitas helped inspire these new cast promotional pictures? Somber and serious seem to be the words du jour as the show enters its sophomore season from September 22, offering more Berlin and betrayal-themed story lines.

Featured below are Amir Arison as our favorite nervous tech-genius Aram Mojtabai, Diego Klattenhoff as the sexy but permanently grumpy Donald Ressler (we can cut the guy some slack. He almost succeeded in losing a leg last season, and definitely succeeded in losing a former fiancee), Harry Lennix as Harold Cooper (We almost lost you too Harold! Glad you’re still with us), Hisham Tawfiq as Dembe (now there’s a backstory we’d love to see explored!), Ryan Eggold as Tom Keen (We like you better sans glasses and with that new super-spy persona, Tom) and of course series stars Megan Boone (who’s your daddy!) as Liz Keen, and James Spader as Raymond ‘Red’ ‘the suspense is kiling me’ Reddington.

The Blacklist returns to our screens from Monday September (10-11 p.m. ET)  on NBC.
