The Blacklist returns to our screens tonight following a short hiatus that somehow felt longer given the show’s recent tense turn of events.

In “Anna-Garcia Duerte” Red (James Spader), Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force are on the case when a member of the drug smuggling ‘Nash Syndicate’ is murdered — while on the phone to Red!

However, this is no regular blacklist case, as the syndicate has ties, not just to Red, but to Ian Garvey (guest star Jonny Coyne) too, and the FBI’s case hinges on being able to recover evidence crucial to bringing down Garvey once and for all.

In the first of two exclusive sneak peek clips below, Red urges Liz to take stock of the situation. However, Liz is more concerned with unpicking how her star witness was recently snatched from under her nose — and on Aram’s (Amir Arison) watch. 

Will her investigations lead her to Red’s involvement? 

Speaking of Aram, clip 2 sees the nervous FBI profiler debating how Samar (Mozhan Marno) will take the gift of a ring her wants to give her. Aram is worried that Samar will see the ring as a marriage proposal, and it appears, equally worried she won’t.
