Bird Box – 60 Second Movie Review
BY Shannon Entin
Published 6 years ago
Bird Box is a Netflix original movie starring Sandra Bullock. Netflix boasts the movie has had “the best first seven days ever for a Netflix film” (though that tweet has opened up a lot of criticism and questioning).
It’s certainly the hot topic in entertainment and social media right now – just Google “Bird Box memes” for lots of laughs!
Bird Box Synopsis
When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain — if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they’ll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them — and complete the trip blindfolded.
Our Take
While it can drag on a bit in some spots, this movie is extremely suspenseful. The acting is excellent with not only Sandra Bullock, but stars like Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich delivering great performances.
Many have criticized that Bird Box is just like A Quiet Place and The Happening. True, but who cares? Not every movie can be completely original and this one takes you on a thrilling ride.
