Ben Kingsley May Be Next Big Star to Join 'Ender's Game'

It appears Ben Kingsley may be playing opposite his Hugo co-star Asa Butterfield once again, in Summit Entertainment’s big screen release of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, tentatively planned to begin production in February. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kingsley is in talks to play a war hero (suspected to be Ender’s combat instructor Mazer Rackham) in the film, which is being directed and co-written by Gavin Hood (X-Men: Origins Wolverine).

Butterfield will be playing the title role of Ender Wiggin, a young boy who is recruited to fight in a highly technological inter-galactic war against invading insectoid aliens (“Buggers”) who are heading for Earth. Other rumored casting choices are Harrison Ford as Colonel Hyrum Graff and Hailee Steinfeld as Ender’s battle school friend Petra Arkanian.
