Batgirl: Set Photos Reveal Brendan Fraser’s Full Firefly Costume

This month will be the month of Batman, but Batgirl is going to be taking the spotlight later in December. We’ve had some set photos of characters like Barbara (Leslie Grace) and Jim Gordon (J.K. Simmons), but now we have a look at Brendan Fraser’s Firefly in full costume.

Seeing that Firefly is also known for, well, flying, I have a feeling that this will be an early version of the suit. If anything, it looks like the first Iron Man suit which Tony Stark built in a cave (with a box of scraps), but there’s also some of that new Boba Fett look from The Mandalorian.  

Personally, it looks kind of goofy for a modern comic book film, but when you think about Michael Keaton’s Batman being the Dark Knight in this universe, the design kind of makes sense. When you think about it, this Firefly lines up perfectly with the rest of Keaton’s rogues gallery of Bat-villains.

We don’t know when WB will start marketing for Batgirl, but they will have to balance that out with promotion for The Flash and Black Adam. Seeing that this movie isn’t connected with the new Batman film, it’s likely that WB wants to distance this film away from The Batman, and connect this better with The Flash which features the version of Batman that will appear in the film.

No official release date has been set for Batgirl, but the movie is expected to hit HBO Max sometime this December. Catch The Batman in theaters March 4.
