Aquaman 2 and The Flash may have been delayed to 2023, but a lot of DC fans are hoping that Batgirl manages to come out later this year. Just in, star Leslie Grace has confirmed that filming has wrapped, and shared a photo of herself with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

We actually get a closer look at some more of the details of the Batgirl outfit, and it kind of feels like Barbara Gordon had her cowl 3D-printed, what with the patterns it has on it. Her main top still looks like a motorcycle jacket, but with a bat sewn on it.
As of now, there is still no main synopsis for the movie, but we do know that Batgirl will be going up against Batman villain Firefly who will be played by Brendan Fraser. J.K. Simmons is also reprising his role of Jim Gordon from Justice League, and rumors are going around that Michael Keaton will also be playing the part of Batman in the film—taking Ben Affleck’s place as the main DCEU timeline’s Batman.
With the Blue Beetlemovie getting a theatrical release, I was kind of hoping that Batgirl would get the same treatment. After all, she has appeared onscreen more times that Blue Beetle has. Maybe since she’s a Batman spinoff character, WB was more comfortable just having her appear in a Batman film down the line. Who knows, maybe they might even decide on a theatrical release in the next few months. We’re still pretty early into the year.
Batgirl has no official release date, but is rumored to release on HBO Max sometime this December.
