Batgirl December Release Date Confirmed?

We know that Michael Keaton will be coming back as Batman in November’s Flash solo film, but some set photos from Batgirl have also confirmed that Keaton could be returning as the Caped Crusader in HBO Max’s solo spinoff. We don’t have an official release date for Batgirl yet, but it looks like it could be coming out later this year.

As posted by producer Michael Uslan on Facebook, Keaton is coming back as Batman in ‘November… and December’. Since we know that The Flash is set to release in November, we could only surmise from the post that Batgirl is set to make its HBO Max premiere in December.

If anything, DC is currently prepping the release of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, so we’ve only seen very little of other upcoming DC projects. After Batman, we should expect Black Adam to get the marketing push, before we get another look at The Flash—and hopefully Keaton’s returning Dark Knight. Maybe the Batgirl trailer can be the after-credits scene, but you would think that HBO Max would want to build hype more than a month before the movie’s release.

We don’t know exactly where Batgirl sits in the DCEU, but after the evidence and confirmation of certain characters, fans suspect that there will be some multiverse shenanigans that will establish Keaton as the main DC Batman. Though I would have loved to see more of Batfleck, I guess he’s pretty much moved on from the role, and so should his fans.

No official release date has been set for Batgirl, but Keaton’s Batman is set to return to the big screen when Flash hits theaters on Nov. 4.  The Batman starring Robert Pattinson hits theaters on March 4.
