Babylon Featurette Introduces Us to Margot Robbie’s Nellie LaRoy

After Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, Margot Robbie is set to turn the clocks back one more time for a period piece set around an older Hollywood with Babylon. The movie is set to come out this weekend, and we have a new featurette giving us a look at Robbie’s fictional actress character, Nellie LaRoy.

Watch this:

Nellie LaRoy is loosely based on Clara Bow and various other female stars of the time. She winds up torpedoing her way to stardom,” says director Damien Chazelle.

Though the 20s was considered to be a conservative time, you just know that there were a lot of things going on around behind the scenes, especially when it comes to the artistic people running an industry that was just starting to kick off.

You’d think that Chazelle would have been done telling the story of Hollywood with La La Land, but whenever there’s a story about a troubled artist, I would think that Chazelle would be able to hone in on that for his next picture.

Here’s the official synopsis:

From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.

Watch out for Babylon when it premieres in cinemas on Dec. 23.
