Avengers Directors the Russo Brothers will Come Back to Marvel around 2030

The Russo Brothers had joined the Marvel Studios umbrella back in 2014 with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but they are rightfully taking a break after the success of Avengers: Endgame. A lot of fans are wondering just when they’ll return to work with Marvel, but it seems like it’s going to be a long wait.

Talking to Variety, Joe Russo had confirmed that the two wouldn’t be working on anything Marvel until 2030. “We’re always talking; we’d need to see what would work,” says Russo, “We won’t be ready to do anything with Marvel until the end of the decade.”

Though 2030 does seem pretty far away, I’m sure that will be only two or three phases away. Who knows, maybe the two could come in even sooner, seeing as they were open about wanting to adapt Secret Wars for the big screen.

The Russos may not be working with Marvel now, but they are still pretty much working under the Disney banner. For now, the two are producing a live-action adaptation of Hercules with director Guy Ritchie, and though we have no idea what that movie looks like yet, the film just made headlines recently when it was reported that it would draw inspiration from TikTok.

No release date has been announced for Hercules yet, but you can check out the most recent Russo Brothers project, The Gray Man, now streaming on Netflix.
