Avatar: The Way of Water Stills Leak Before Trailer Drop

Fans may be expecting the first trailer of Avatar: The Way of Water to screen before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but we have some first images that have come out online.

We don’t know which characters we’re looking at specifically, but it’s possible that it could be Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully who we saw successfully transfer his consciousness into his Na’vi Avatar in the first movie. The character with the big eyes could possibly be his daughter.

While Jake and Ney’tiri are making a comeback, this film is expected to focus on their children this time around. What’s more, with the first film’s focus on the sky and flying creatures, this sequel is said to go the opposite direction and take focus on the aquatic life of Pandora.

Though Avatar may not be as prevalent in pop culture now, it was still able to make a huge splash at the box office, remaining the highest-grossing film of all time for a number of years—until it was beat out by Avengers: Endgame. We don’t know if Cameron will be able to top himself with this sequel, but with five movies already planned, he better have something special in mind when it comes to this next series of films.

Jake Sully and Ney’tiri have formed a family and are doing everything to stay together. However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora. When an ancient threat resurfaces, Jake must fight a difficult war against the humans.

Avatar: The Way of Water is set to hit theaters on Dec. 16.
