Miguel Vasquez, a 3D character artist, shows everyone what SpongBob Squarepants and Patrick Star would look like in the real world. The results? Definitely far from their usual cartoon versions. Although, the two characters are no strangers to an audience as they’re from the popular animated series, “SpongeBob Squarepants.”
SpongeBob And Patrick Re-envisioned
This isn’t the first time SpongeBob and Patrick transformed into their 3D selves. The 2015 SpongeBob movie, “Spongebob out of Water”, took the 2D characters into a 3D ride. But this time, for artist Miguel Vasques, it’s a more unique kind of three-dimensional art.
Vasquez’s works show Spongebob and Patrick, the infamous best friends of the series in such a real form. Available on his ArtStation account, which is a platform for artists, are the drawings of the two in all their 3D glory. In what sense are they “real-life”? Well, all the details put into the drawings.
The creations, which are rendered in the 3D rendering and animation software “Keyshot”, manages to make the 2D a reality. This means showing SpongeBob and Patrick with all the wrinkles, textures, and color depth to make them real.

Other Of Vasquez’s Works
It’s just SpongeBob and Patrick for now, with Squidward making a brief appearance in one of Vasquez’s speed draws. But with just the two, his works are already making rounds online and receiving mixed reactions on Twitter. With all the buzz, who knows if more of the series’ characters might show up.
The rest of Vasquez’ works are also digital sculpting, which includes Luigi from the game “Super Mario” and the Lizard from “The Amazing Spiderman.” “SpongeBob Squarepants,” a Nickelodeon series created by Stephen Hillenburg, is presently on its 10th season.
