First Look At Aquaman and Mera Together In Newest Set Photo

The hype for “Aquaman” is slowly building up with the latest set photo released online. In the image, we see Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry and Amber Heard’s Queen Mera together for the first time. Momoa made his brief appearance as the titular character in short video files discovered by Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” in “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.” He will be back this November when the world’s finest heroes unite for “Justice League.”
Setting Up Aquaman For First Film Debut
Once “Justice League” hits theaters, it will establish a slew of superheroes in the League where we have yet to see in the big screen as part of the DC Extended Universe. That includes “Aquaman’s” underwater city of Atlantis. We also know that aside from Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe will be playing Nuidis Vulko, another addition to the already-awesome ensemble film.
They will then return for another outing in next year’s “Aquaman” directed by James Wan (The Conjuring). The film has been confirmed to be a swashbuckling adventure film.
First Set Photo of Aquaman and Queen Mera Together
“Aquaman” is currently on shooting schedule in Australia, and the new set photo that showed up online just makes us long for the movie sooner. We see Arthur and Mera together, presumably in a scene together. The photo was taken by Twitter user @AmberHeardIT at the Gold Coast in Queensland, on what seems to be a small dock, which could possibly be a scene in Arthur’s hometown, Amnesty Bay. Check out the photo below:
The photo comes as the latest in the series of images that are gradually being posted online for “Aquaman.” A couple of weeks ago, Wan released Mera’s first official photo in full costume, to which Heard then responded with a photo of her own during the first day of filming. Both images gave a spotlight on Mera’s sparkly green aquatic outfit glimmering in perfection.
One interesting feature of the above photo is Arthur’s trench coat, obviously showing us the Atlantean King without his costume. This can mean a lot of things for this particular scene, and the mystery it gives off sparks even more curiosity as to what path the story for “Aquaman” will be taking.
Aquaman is scheduled for a December 21, 2018 release date.
