Ana de Armas Cuckolds Ben Affleck Repeatedly in New Trailer for Deep Water

While Gone Girl didn’t really need a sequel, it looks like Ben Affleck has found another ‘guy in troubled marriage’ role with Deep Water. He co-stars with Ana de Armas, and Hulu has just dropped a sizzling new trailer that portrays Affleck’s frustrated husband and Armas’ unapologetic seductress.

Ben Affleck (“Gone Girl”) and Ana de Armas (“Knives Out”) star in the psychological thriller “Deep Water” from director Adrian Lyne (“Fatal Attraction,” “Indecent Proposal”). Based on the celebrated novel by famed mystery writer Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley), “Deep Water” takes us inside the marriage of picture-perfect Vic (Affleck) and Melinda (de Armas) Van Allen to discover the dangerous mind games they play and what happens to the people that get caught up in them.

The story is said to have Vic and Melinda agreeing to have Melinda sleep with other people as long as she stays with her family—in order to avoid the mess of divorce. Things then take a dark turn when one of Melinda’s lovers is murdered and Vic takes credit for it.

It’s so odd to watch the trailer, seeing that Affleck and de Armas were a real-life couple when they were shooting this movie. We don’t know where the two stand with each other now, but it’s going to be weird promoting the release of this film, knowing that de Armas and Affleck have actual history with each other.

Catch Deep Water when it premieres on Hulu on March 18.
