Amleth Fights a Ghost in New Clip from The Northman

The Northman just released last weekend, and Focus Features is hard at work trying to hype up Robert Eggers Viking epic. Just in, we have a new clip from the movie which features Amleth (Alexander Skarsgård) fighting a ghost.

The movie is said to be based on a story that Shakespeare’s Hamlet is based on, so I’m suspecting this scene is the one where Hamlet (or rather ‘Amleth’) meets his father’s ghost. Of course, Hamlet didn’t have an intense fight with his ghost-dad, but we have to get our thrills somewhere.

Admittedly, Eggers has expressed his woes with the studio, and has said that this could be his last ‘big’ movie. While there were some worried that The Northman won’t be able to make its money back in the box office, the film has been receiving sparkling reviews. Let’s just hope that it manages to have a stellar box office run enough to prove to studios that there is an audience for arthouse films that Eggers is best known for. I mean, not everything has to be a comic book movie.
