After weeks of waiting, we finally find out who made it to the “American Idol” Top 10! Sunday’s votes automatically save six Idol hopefuls. Now, only four spots remain, and the eight Idol hopefuls in jeopardy will have to sing to impress Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan.
Maddie Poppe
Maddie is one of the unique yet underrated contestants in “American Idol” this season. Despite that, though, Maddie did her best to prove that she can be the next champion in the show.
Maddie sang “Walk Like An Egyptian” by The Bangles for her “American Idol” Top 10 performance, and she got the first chair in the Victory Zone!
Michelle Sussett
Michelle risked everything and decided to sing an original song called “I’m A Dreamer.” Michelle delivered the song well—especially the verse in Spanish—but the vocals weren’t that good. This could probably be the reason why she was sent to the Danger Zone.
Michelle may not be the best singer in the competition, but she is one of the most charismatic and entertaining singers so far—someone you would want to pay just to see a fantastic performance.
Marcio Donaldson
Unfortunately, Marcio was sent right to the Danger Zone after his performance of “Jealous” by Nick Jonas. Marcio is one of the most inspiring singers in “American Idol.” So even though he might not make it to the Top 10, it’s pretty obvious that he touched the hearts of many people.
Cade Foehner
Cade claimed the second chair in the Victory Zone! A lot of fans probably don’t want this guy to go home yet. Cade delivered “Bright Lights” by Gary Clark Jr. but like his other “American Idol” performances, he didn’t show something new, and this could affect his journey in “American Idol.” Cade still needs to prove how versatile he is a singer and a performer.
Garrett Jacobs
Garrett tackled “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival for his “American Idol” Top 10 performance. And although Garrett chose the right song, it wasn’t enough for him to be in the Victory Zone.
Gabby Barrett
Gabby and her fans can finally celebrate since she grabbed the third chair in the Victory Zone! Gabby has been very consistent from her “American Idol” audition until her Live Playoffs Performance, so she deserves to be in the Top 10.
Gabby sang “Little Red Wagon” by Miranda Lambert where she was once again able to show exceptional vocals and a versatile voice.
Dennis Lorenzo
Dennis went to the Danger Zone, and this is somewhat questionable. Dennis has been great in all of his performances, so it was surprising to know that he didn’t make it.
Dennis sang “This Woman’s Work” by Maxwell, and even though his performance wasn’t the best, there’s no doubt that he has given everything.
Johnny Brenns
Johnny performed “Demons” by Imagine Dragons for his Top 10 performance. Luke said that Johnny chose the right one and should continue singing those kinds of songs. It looks like Johnny finally found his sweet spot.
Johnny, however, was sent right away to the Danger Zone. But the good news is that Johnny’s father is now continually supporting his chosen career.
Caleb Lee Hutchinson
Caleb showed something new during his Top 14 performance. This must be the reason why he managed to be in the Victory Zone.
Caleb sang “Gettin’ You Home” by Chris Young, and it looks like he is finally creating his own identity in the music industry.
Mara Justine
Mara was very emotional during her Top 14 performance. And as of her Top 10 performance, it seemed like she didn’t know how to handle the pressure.
Mara went to the Danger Zone after singing “Love On the Brain” by Rihanna. Mara is still young, so she has a lot of time to grow and improve not only as a singer but as a person as well.
Jurnee
Another surprising result was on Jurnee. Jurnee got sent to the Danger Zone, but since the judges love her so much, she has the highest probability to be saved.
Jurnee sang “Never Enough” From “The Greatest Showman.” Her performance was excellent and effortless!
Michael J. Woodard
Just like what everyone was expecting, Michael claimed a chair in the Victory Zone. Michael sang “Believe In Yourself” from “The Wiz” for his Top 10 performance.
Catie Turner
Another deserving singer is Catie as she grabbed a spot in the Victory Zone. From the get-go, Catie never disappointed the viewers and the “American Idol” judges, so she needs to stay longer in the competition.
Catie sang “Havana” by Camila Cabello where she displayed her unique voice and pleasing personality.
Ada Vox
Surprisingly, Ada was sent to the Danger Zone after she delivered “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” by Jennifer Holliday. The song is quite difficult to sing, but Ada decided to risk everything for her Top 10 performance.
Who was saved tonight in ‘American Idol?’
Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan opted to save Jurnee, Michelle Sussett, Dennis Lorenzo, and Ada Vox. They now completed the Top 10 of “American Idol.”
‘American Idol’ continues next Sunday, April 29th, with the “Live Finals” at 8/7c on ABC.
