“American Horror Story” Season 7 gets a little bloodier with the addition of Colton Haynes to the cast. Creator Ryan Murphy welcomed Haynes to the show by posting a picture on his Instagram of the “Arrow” star with blood smeared all over his mouth. Currently, Fox hasn’t released any details about his role. But since this is “American Horror Story,” fans can expect something appropriately gruesome for Haynes.
Colton Haynes Takes On Another Horror Series
This won’t be the first time Haynes will work with Murphy. Last year, the “Teen Wolf” grad bagged a recurring role in the second season of Fox’s “Scream Queens,” also created by Murphy. He played Tyler, a man who ends up covered head to toe in boils. Horrifying, right? At least it means Haynes has experience with the kinds of freakish roles similarly found in “American Horror Story.”
And who knows? Maybe Haynes will be able to apply things he learned from his other roles on “Teen Wolf” and “Arrow.” Fans probably remember him as Jackson Whittemore on the supernatural series about werewolves in high school. Haynes also starred in “Arrow” as Roy Harper, a vigilante and the Green Arrow’s protege. Both roles required intense physical fitness from Haynes. Will we see some of that form in “American Horror Story?”
Who Else Is Set To Appear?
Apart from Haynes, the seventh incarnation of “American Horror Story” also welcomes newcomers Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and Billy Eichner. Fox also confirmed AHS veterans Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters to return, though in unspecified roles. While Fox remains elusive on the details, Murphy teased on Instagram a shot of the back of a man’s head with dyed blue hair. Later pictures on set confirmed the man as Peters.
Lourd makes the jump to “American Horror Story” from sister horror show “Scream Queens,” which Fox recently canceled after two seasons. Murphy teased another photo on his Instagram of Lourd with white hair, captioned “Winter is coming.” He confirmed her as a regular. Leslie Grossman (“Popular”) also joins the cast, though it’s uncertain if she has a recurring or regular role. Billy Eichner (host of “Billy on the Street) has been confirmed in a recurring role.
What We Know So Far About AHS Season 7
Apart from a few Instagram posts and teasing interviews, Ryan Murphy remains elusive about the seventh season. He revealed that it would center on the aftermath of the U.S. Presidential Elections in 2016. Specifically, the divisive political climate in America. Reports allege that the first episode takes place on Election Night. Murphy also teased a creepy rendition of the Republican party’s mascot on Instagram. An elephant with hollow eyes and painted with the Joker’s trademark bloody grin. What does it all mean? We’ll just have to wait and see.
