'American Horror Story' Alum Connie Britton to Return for Season 8, 'Apocalypse'

The upcoming season of American Horror Story—Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s FX anthology series—looks to be a reunion for most of its mainstay and recurring cast members. Connie Britton, who first played Vivien Harmon in the show’s first season, is making her way back to AHS: Apocalypse this fall.

According to TheWrap, Britton will be reprising her role in American Horror Story: Murder House and film her scenes on location at the Murder House set in Los Angeles. Vivien’s husband Ben, played by Dylan McDermott, will also return for the eighth installment of the anthology series.

Murphy previously announced Taissa Farmiga as one of the original cast members to make a return to AHS: Apocalypse. Farmiga played Vivien and Ben’s daughter, Violet, in Murder House and Zoe Benson in AHS: Coven. That said, Apocalypse will feature a crossover storyline of Murder House and Coven. Britton and McDermott join the show’s regular cast, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Emma Roberts, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter and Cheyenne Jackson. Jessica Lange is also set to make her return, after being absent from American Horror Story for three seasons since Freak Show.

American Horror Story: Murder House ended with Vivien giving birth to twins after Peters’ Tate raped her. Constance (Lange) took Michael, the only surviving demon offspring from Vivien after he killed his babysitter as a toddler towards the season 1 finale. Series newcomer Cody Fern has been cast as the grown-up Michael in Apocalypse.

AHS: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, September 12th at 10/9c on FX.
