Tony watches Lisa’s video guide again, and she asks him to keep being funny because he’s good at it and a lovely man.
A teenage boy biking around the neighborhood sees Julian passed out in the garage where he stays.
Tony passes by the school where he sees George lonely for the past few days. He stops by and asks what the matter is. George says that Robbie has hit him as he does so every day. Tony talks to Robbie and tells him that he’s an escaped lunatic who likes to murder fat kids and that if he ever hits George or anyone else again, he’ll come to his house and murder him with a hammer while he sleeps.
Tony tells his dad about what he did, and his dad tells Emma. Emma asks how his date went, and he tells her it was awful.
At the office, Lenny tells everyone that his girlfriend is coming over to bring him a treat. Matt asks Tony about his date, and he tells him it was the worst. He also tells him that he tried to knock muggers off their motorcycle and stole their hammer, which he now keeps with him.
Matt asks him to go to his office to talk about Julian, who was found dead earlier that morning from a heroin overdose. Tony tells him he gave him the money to buy the drugs. Matt asks him if he knew he’d commit suicide, and Tony tells him that he does and that he still gave him the money. Matt gets upset, thinking that it was a joke. He says that he won’t let Tony near George again if that is true. Tony lies to him about knowing.
June, Lenny’s girlfriend, arrives at the office, and Lenny proudly introduces her to everyone. Tony asks her what it’s like to date Lenny, and she tells him that it’s lovely and that he’s hot. He’s also good with her son, so she loves him. When she offers to show a picture of Lenny straight from the bath, Lenny convinces her to go.
Tony visits his dad for the second time that day, and he seems to be liking seeing Emma.
For a feature story, Lenny and Tony visit a woman who uses her breastmilk to make rice puddings. Tony retches as Lenny samples the puddings, and if that wasn’t enough, the woman goes on to tell that she uses her vaginal yeast to make bread.
Brian finally convinces Tony to visit his house for a chance to be in the paper. Tony, Lenny, and Sandy go to the house and find that it’s full of things he collects, including cockroaches. Tony tells Brian that there’s no story there and heads out. Sandy insists on staying to try and find a story, and Tony urges Lenny to stay with her.
Matt calls Tony to his office after receiving a call from the school about somebody threatening a boy with a hammer. Matt tells Tony that he won’t allow him to see George again if he continues not to be accountable for his actions.
Lenny and Sandy come back to the office and tell Kath they had a mental experience. Sandy notices that Kath has been playing an empty snowglobe. Kath tells them that it’s the type where you put a picture of something you love, and she hasn’t found someone yet. Tony asks her what she loves, and she says that she loves a good laugh and Kevin Hart.
Tony talks to Anne at the graveyard about wanting to kill himself and how he tried not to care, but he can’t. Anne tells him that good people do things for other people and that happiness is so unique that you don’t care if it’s yours.
Tony comes back to the office, and Sandy asks him to be happy because he’s funny and can still be happy even though he lost his wife. To stop Sandy from crying, Tony asks her about Brian’s story. After reading it, he was impressed, and he told Sandy that the story can be front page.
Tony suddenly remembers when he gave their dog, Brandy, to Lisa.
Before heading home, Tony walks by the garage where Julian was found dead and sees Daphne sitting nearby. The two sit together for a while.
Our Thoughts
Again, what happened to Julian could have been prevented if help had been sought. Tony was in pretty terrible shape himself, but that’s no excuse for aiding someone do the thing. He could have done better. Just a reminder to anyone reading this – help is always available.
We are so happy for Lenny, who seems happy with June. Tony seems to be liking Emma. Will they be an item soon? Well, we hope so. She appears to be a good person, and Tony deserves to be happy. Anyway, Tony threatening a child with a hammer is not a very good example and might cause trauma to the child. This is a no-no. We side with Matt that Tony has to stop doing things like that. It’s a good thing that Anne seems to influence Tony and that she pushes him to be a better man, one graveyard conversation at a time.
