Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston Return for Murder Mystery 2 Trailer

Netflix had just given us a murder mystery back in December with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, but now we’re getting the more general audience-friendly Murder Mystery 2 starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

Four years after solving their first murder mystery, Nick and Audrey Spitz (Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston) are now full-time detectives struggling to get their private eye agency off the ground when they’re invited to celebrate the wedding of their friend the Maharaja (Adeel Akhtar) on his private island. But trouble follows the Spitzes again when the groom is kidnapped for ransom soon after the festivities begin — making each glamorous guest, family member, and the bride herself a suspect. MURDER MYSTERY 2 sends Nick and Audrey Spitz on a high-stakes case that finally gives them everything they’ve ever dreamed of: a shot at their detective agency finally becoming successful…and their long-awaited trip to Paris.

The movie has all the marks of a Sandler comedy, what with the vacation spot setting, and Sandler’s usual brand of humor.

You have to hand it to Sandler as an artist. Though he is known for these ‘mainstream comedy’ films, he still manages to star in some ‘serious’ movies every now and again with projects like Uncut Gems and last year’s Hustle. In a climate where actors are considered one or the other, it’s truly interesting how Sandler manages to switch between roles without it feeling odd for audience members.
