Adam Sandler Allegedly Teaming Up with Safdie Brothers for New Project

The Safdie Brothers had started turning heads with their film Good Time starring Robert Pattinson, but they really got major audience attention when they teamed up with Adam Sandler for Uncut Gems. Now three years after the release of their hit, it looks like they are once again teaming up with the comedy legend.

In a recent report from IndieWire, it’s been said that Sandler and the Safdies are in development of a new project. The article writes, “Sources tell me Sandler and the Safdies are already cooking up another project.”

We don’t have that much detail on what the project could be, but if you’ve seen a Safdie movie, there’s a good chance that it could be a stress-inducing crime-gone-wrong flick.

While Adam Sandler is best known for his work in comedy, he has been attached to some very artsy projects throughout his career. For every three Grown-Ups-level movies out there, you can always bet that Sandler has one Punch-Drunk Love.

Though some Sandler fans are hoping that he sticks to just the ‘good’ projects in his career, I think that it actually helps his exposure as well as the audience’s. Who knows, if you loved watching Sandler in a movie like Click, maybe you’ll be more open to watching him in Uncut Gems? It all makes sense if you look at the bigger picture.

No official announcement has been made for the next Safdie/Sandler project, but fingers crossed we get some kind of update within the year. In the meantime, you can catch one-half of the Safdie director duo, Benny, star in Disney+’s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series which premieres in May.
