A War is Brewing in New Teaser for His Dark Materials 3

The Golden Compass may have failed to launch a franchise when it came out in 2007, but HBO Max had managed to make a more faithful adaptation with His Dark Materials back in 2019. The series is now gearing up to end with its third and final season, and we just got a new teaser showcasing an older Lyra and Will.

With the show having covered events from the first books Northern Lights and The Subtle Knife, the third season is going to be based on the events of The Amber Spyglass, the last entry in the His Dark Materials series.

Though the series hasn’t had that much hype surrounding it compared to shows like House of the Dragon, there has been a lot of praise going its way, and the completion of the show could get more people to try and binge the series.

Admittedly, the effects of the Golden Compass movie were still more impressive (with them working on a movie budget), but they did try to water down the story in order to deliver something more kid-friendly. The HBO Max adaptation though, fully embraces the multiverse aspect of His Dark Materials, and it tries its best to really explore all the different cultures and factions that exist in this world.

I guess it’s just a bit frustrating that the daemons sometimes feel like they’re missing since they were trying to save on CG.
