Euphoria: Kat’s Role Allegedly Shortened After Actress Clashed with Show Creator

Euphoria may be one of the biggest shows on HBO right now, but the series has allegedly been experiencing some drama behind the scenes.
As per The Daily Beast, Barbie Ferreria, who plays Kat Hernandez on the show, was said to have had her role shortened in season two because she had creative differences with director Sam Levinson; with some sources even saying that she had walked out of the set at least two times.
We don’t really know what Levinson and Ferreria fought about specifically (or if they even fought at all), but it does explain why the character with one of the more significant arcs on Season One has largely taken a backseat since the show returned. A lot of fans specifically got upset when Kat tried to gaslight Ethan into breaking up with her:
For now, it seems that the show is mostly focusing on the drama happening with the lives of Rue (Zendaya) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney). Though some characters are getting more attention this year than they did in the first season—like Nate’s dad (Eric Dane), Lexi (Maude Apatow), and Fezco (Angus Cloud)—some more significant characters have been terribly underwritten alongside Kat; why aren’t we getting enough of Jules (Hunter Schafer)??
Despite the backstage drama, it’s clear that everyone is eating up the second season of Euphoria. HBO Max has even greenlit the series for a third season already. We don’t know where that could go, but hopefully they manage to address the so-called problems behind the scenes while building on what makes the series so interesting now.
