Netflix’s controversial but extremely successful teen drama “13 Reasons Why” has just started filming for its second season, set for a 2018 release. No exact date has been specified for the release, but with a 6 to 8 month shoot expected, we can assume that season 2 will arrive about the same month that it aired this year—March 2018.
“13 Reasons Why” follows the life of Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), a high-school student driven to take her own life, leaving behind 13 tapes stating the people involved in her suicide. The show tackled highly-sensitive issues of rape, bullying, and suicide. It made a head-on collision course to facing these issues offering no apologies for its extremely graphic scenes.
13 Reasons Why Season 2 Filming Is Ready To Make Some Magic
With a huge ensemble cast, “13 Reasons Why” went on to become a huge hit despite the controversy surrounding it. Given the show’s popularity, Netflix’s renewal seemed highly likely.
Christian Navarro, who plays Tony on the show, confirmed the news on Twitter.

The show is based on the novel of the same name by Jay Asher. There is no second book to which the show will be basing it from, and so it’s entirely up to showrunner Brian Yorkey to come up with additional elements that fans will have to go through for “13 Reasons Why” season 2.
One of the issues that fans want to see the outcome is for Bryce to face justice for raping Jessica and Hannah. At the end of season 1, we saw Jessica find the courage to tell her dad about what Bryce did to her. Meanwhile, Clay went on to tape Bryce’s confession and handed it over the Mr. Porter, the school’s guidance counselor. While the tape may not be a highly admissible piece of evidence in court, it will certainly spark a huge chain of events dealing with what Bryce has done. And given Jessica’s dad being in the army, we can only imagine what horrors Bryce is in for.
With “13 Reasons Why” season 2 now filming, we can expect to get more details as it progresses, but we will all get some closure to the questions raised in season 1 once “13 Reasons Why” arrives on Netflix for a second season.
