10 Things You Have To Know About Marvel's 'Deadpool'

You might only know him through his movies, but Deadpool has more in store for you that even your Book of Superheroes almanac hasn’t covered yet. So sit those cheeky buns of yours and take a look at TV Movie Fix’s list of the ten things about Deadpool that he doesn’t know about either.

1. His Name Is “So Original”

When Deadpool started off, the first impression was that he was severely similar to DC’s Deathstroke, so his creators, Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, decided to name him ‘Wade Wilson’ trying to show fans that its all a joke knowing that Deathstroke’s name is Slade Wilson.

2. Deadpool and Captain America are Besties

Captain America and Deadpool have one more thing in common. Aside from being buff and all—they both got their powers from government experiments. This is why Cap is the only one who understands what Wade has gone through. Deadpool only respects one guy in the entire Marvel universe, and that’s Cap as Deadpool idolized him since he was a young boy.

3. And You Thought Deadpool and Spider-Man Didn’t Know Each Other

“Spideypool” is the ship name that raging fans have made for this duo. Deadpool had an on-and-off best bud relationship with Spider-Man since it made creative fans inspired in coming up with illustrations of the two teaming up.

4. He Killed The Entire Marvel Universe

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe is an experiment gone crazy brought our slacker to go slashing out as he assassinates various heroes and villains. He actually defeated the Avengers by blowing them up with Pym Particles and shot Spider-Man clean in the forehead.

5. He Was a Member of The X-Force

The X-Force was a like the Black ops of the X-Men. He spent his summer not on an island with babes surrounding him but with Wolverine heading the X-Force.

6. He’s Married to Someone’s Fiance

The Merc with a Mouth was actually married to Dracula’s Fiance Shiklah. Even if we know Wade had a romantic affair with Copycat, Death, and even Black Widow, he only got tied down by Dracula’s runaway Fiance.

7. Ryan Reynolds Hated Deadpool Version in X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Nobody liked the old Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, even Reynolds himself hated it. The first thing that irked many fans is that they glued this mercenary’s mouth, taking away the best part of him. Not to mention jumbling up his powers and not really highlighting what he is capable of. You might have never known that it was him before you read this entry!

8. Deadpool was a DAD!

Deadpool had a daughter with a Latina named Carmelita Camacho, and their daughter’s name was Eleanor/Ellie. He rescued her daughter from captivity and gave his friend Emily Preston (an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.) custody so they could keep it a secret. He actually also bought a house next door to Ellie just to be close to her.

9. He’s Got a Softy for The Kiddos

Aside from the Merc’s soft spot for Deadpool 2’s Russell (Julian Dennison), he also has a heart for defenseless kids. Even if we know him to be a bad-ass mercenary at his best, our hero still has a fuzzy inning for the kids.

10. Deadpool Is Aware That He’s A Man In Tights

He breaks the Fourth Wall constantly by giving surprising comments in his books and movies. He mostly drops comments like “This is my book,” “You’re watching my movie,” “stop being a star in my movie,” and “don’t do that in my book.”
